A mile below, at the base of the caves, some three dozen U.S. Special Forces troops fanned out. They were the only ground forces that senior American military leaders had committed to the Tora Bora campaign.

2. 1/22/2009 headline you can count on (if a Dem is elected Prez)
"Why hasn't fill-in-the-blank-Dem-Prez captured Osama bin Ladin?"

crux of the story will be that he's been on the job for one day, and he hasn't done anything about the head of international terrorism. Especially after everything pertaining to ObL has been wiped clean from hard and data copies of the Bush misAdministration.

3. Which begs the question: "Was Osama ever really the objective" for
if so the war on terrorism has failed miserably on all levels. But look at the bright side: probably hundreds of billions of dollars of contracts will have eventually been let to friends and cronies, most probably no-bid, unlimited cost over-run types while the Federal debt mushrooms.

5. He is on the same side as dubby
He was flown out of there to Pakistan and probably still resides there or some island paradise where dubby can meet back up with him in a couple of years to share some margaritas or coke.
