The likes of United Airlines (OTC BB: UALAQ) and U.S. Airways (OTC BB: UAIRQ) are already operating under Chapter 11, of course, a dynamic that makes declaring bankruptcy tantamount to a competitive advantage in the industry.

Article has more, but isn't it great that companies can still delcare bankruptcy? :sarcasm:

1. At the same time

Those companies' retirees will get diddly from a pension plan they might have paid into for 40 years. And then when they have a stroke and can't pay for the treatment, their bankruptcy experience will differ quite a bit.
