Edited on Sun Oct-05-03 06:56 PM by ozone_man
Not that I would have voted for him, but yet another thing to turn me off. From one bonesman to another? I don't think so.

On edit: I was glad they mentioned the Geronimo skull and Prescott Bush, but I don't see how they could have done it otherwise. They didn't really touch on whether or not that was ethical or even mention what Native Americans might think about that. One of the things I don't like about 60 minutes, but it might be good for the average TV viewer.

8. Alexandra Robbins was impressive on there tonight.
Wow, there is not much discussion about this. If it was a rerun, we had not seen it. Saw the one on the History Channel, but this was better. It made its points it needed to make.

They pointed out that it is an organization to put people in power, which was the right way to approach it.

9. That was good...it confirmed my thinking on this
As mysterious and dark as S&B is, it seems to be a group of well connected, highly motivated (for the most part - excluding GW Bush) individuals. It makes sense that individuals who go to Yale will more than likely move on to big things, and furthermore, those that go to Yale and have strong priveleged backgrounds are most likely to go on to great things.

I don't subscibe to the conspiracy theories surrounding S&B, but it is an interesting fraternity to say the least.

I wouldn't worry too much about John Kerry being one. He is probably pretty embarrased that he sat around discussing his sexual history with a group of 20 year olds. No wonder he doesn't want to talk about it.

10. It was very scary. Should have waited until Halloween.
I think that we should demand to be told what secrets those fellers tell each other when they are 21, don't you ?

My husband took an oath when he joined the Knights of Columbus. He was about 40 at the time but he hasn't run into anyone who demands to know what that was all about.

I think if I researched a bit I might come up with quite an impressive list of KC s too. Maybe even President Kennedy.

I think someone here, ( I could give you about 3 names ) should get right on that.

That Robbins girl is a real hottie, isn't she ? I especially liked when she was coming towards the camera, kind of like in slow motion. I got the impression she was showing off a new pair of ah ah, ...
lips ?

More power to her, but she may find herself in for more scrutiny than she wants if she is going to try to find out what some 20 year olds are up to.

I was a little surprised by the tight, low cut dress and the way she was kind of bouncing as she walked towards the camera. She has a right to act and dress the way she wants and I have the right to say she may make some people question her bona fides.

And you have a right to think I am odd for making this statement.
I guess you may think that makes me sexist. Be my guest.

Honestly, I really like to read grasswire's posts. There are times when we must all look a bit closer than some would like us to. That means that "conspiracy theorist" gets thrown around. But, as uncomfortable as it may be, there are times when all is not as they appear. I say that because along with the "grass wires" comes a little "tin foil." And remember, I mean that in the way DU uses the term -- in and of itself it's not a bad thing. Grasswire posts some great stuff....but at times, there are posts that are meant to "look" tin foil, that really aren't. He's good. So, don't worry.

That is kind of funny. Yes I know what you mean.

I'm sorry I don't share your opinion that Ms. Robbins came off as a serious investigator. She may be. Maybe she didn't pick all the footage shown of her. She is very beautiful, but the way she was shown together with her words about the initiatees sitting in a dimly lit cozy room with a roaring fire, telling all their sexual history just didn't convince me.

I apologize if I came off as sexist. As a mother of 3 very strong women, ( and one strong man) I am far from it. I guess I should have skipped the comments about her appearance. I guess it was not so unusual by today's standards.

30. Dean never sold out to this conformist ideology.
Im not here to sell Dean, but I am here to state that he never succumbed to this elitist, white superiority fraternity. On the contrary, he requested an African American roomate his FRESHMAN year. That should explain alot about Howard Dean. He is ahead of the game, and apparently has been for quite a while. It says aLOT when someone of establishment roots doesn't march in lock step to their tune. That is certainly the road less traveled. That describes an exceptional person - one that we havent seen in a while. One that we have the opportunity to elect, if we have the wisdom to see who we have before us.

This is one of the many reasons I know that Dean is the candidate, not only that can beat Bush, but is not afraid to confront the realities that face America.

Hes a good man and if elected, will bring all Americans back into governing their own country. Now it is up to us to accept that responsibility.

Its up to US.

I thought Dean went to Yale. I have mixed feelings about that University, but his decision to choose a different path, as you describe, makes me even prouder of him.

He wins on ethics, in my opinion. Personally, after 8 years of Clinton and 4 years of Bush, I think folks will be yearning for someone who can clean up the image of America and restore values to our country. Dean can.

Also one of our Dean group emailed me that they had not heard of it.

They did not like the secretiveness and power aspects. I think for those who have not been aware of it, it was good in the simplicity.

34. Perform sexual acts in the Tomb? I believe so and I bet I'm correct!
Any comments from college fraternity members?

“They're supposed to recount their entire sexual histories in sort of a dim, a dimly-lit cozy room. The other 14 members are sitting on plush couches, and the lights are dimmed,” says Robbins. “And there's a fire roaring. And the, this activity is supposed to last anywhere from between one to three hours.”

35. Thanks for the skulls-up!
No fan of Bilderbergers or Illuminati, I don't like secret societies any more than anybody who hates them. That said, S&B imbues a certain sense of "responsibility" to initiates when it comes to worldly affairs. I don't believe it overrides their sense of right and wrong, which is a matter of conscience.

Fellow Bonesman and of one John F. Kerry's best friends from his Yale days was Richard Pershing, grandson of General of the Armies John "Black Jack" Pershing, was killed in action in Vietnam. He was only 26 when he died, as anyone who's read a biography of Gen Pershing will attest: Life IS short.

http://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/johnjose.htm

What Kerry wrote about losing his friend from "Bones":

Dearest Mama and Papa,

What can I say? I am empty, bitter, angry and desperately lost with nothing but war, violence, and more war around me. I just don't believe that it was meant to be this cruel and senseless -- that anyone could possibly get near to Persh to take his life. What a God-damn total waste. Why? I was on watch on the bridge when the executive officer came over and asked me if I had a friend called Pershing. I knew immediately it was all over but even when I read the telegram it took moments to sink in. Then I just walked off the bridge and cried -- a pathetic and very empty kind of crying that turned into anger and bitterness.

I have never felt so void of feeling before -- so numb. My God I feel sorry for Shirley …. I just feel so sorry for the whole thing. I am glad that you wrote Mrs. Pershing -- I know that it will mean a lot to her and it was warming to me to know that you did.

With the loss of Persh something has gone out of me -- he was so much a part of my life at the irreplaceable, incomparable moments of love, concerns, anger and compassion exchanged in Bones that can never be replaced -- never be satisfied in memory form. Persh was an unbelievable spark in all of us and we took for granted that we would always be together -- go crashing through life in our unconquerable fashion as one entity. Now that is gone in one incomprehensible moment. Time will never heal this. It may alleviate but it will never heal. If I do nothing more, and if I convince… the others to do nothing more, it will be to give every effort we can to somehow make this a better world to live in and to end once and for all this willingness to expend ourselves in this stupid, endless self-distruction.

Persh's loss will not -- and I don't know why -- but it will not affect my faith, rather strengthen my convictions -- it's the loss of another friend that teaches you so much it would be trite to even put it on paper. I just can't… the picture of the funeral out of my mind…. There is a lot now to say but I really don't want to write about it -- I just don't have it in me. I will write again in a few days. I hope. Take care and God bless. I am thinking of you all.

Much love,
John

40. A little a question about secret societies and JFK
http://www.akg-london.co.uk/hist/revol/text/218581.htm

Women's movement and emancipation.
- "Suffragists marching" (Demonstration
by Suffragettes, New York City(?),
USA).-
Photo (Bain News Service photograph),
1913.
(snip)

In a larger context it asked why one should be able to do unto others without their consent.

Since it is not a question that JFK was murdered in what is an undisputable plot of criminality and conspiracy. The only real problems arise because all the exact facts are missing with much evidence contradicting others. With millions of people having looked at these different things on just this case, how could any one ever consider someone that is beholden to a secret society ever as someone to be considered to the public trust or office. These two concepts are contradictory to me.

There has been much work done to make political candidates to disclose their financial status. I can mostly attribute this to the fact one set of thieves are mostly mistrustful of another set of thieves and not much more.

My belief is for real fundamental change to come to this political morass that is called USA, is for people to stand on real principle and not compromises. The brave Women that chained themselves the iron fence of the White house was done less than a century ago. Women might not be voting today if it were not for such people standing on such principle. Maybe there is not equality as many would like to see it, but having it written into the law is a start. To be compromising with anyone on such principled things as who the real person is that is running for a candidacy is a detriment on all principles.

To be sure about this one need not look any farther than the election that will occur tomorrow in California. This also another reason negative campaigning works but is tool that has to be used as things stand. In requesting honesty from others one needs to demand honesty from one self to be understanding what principle means.

In closing I would ask if one feels a need to be vindictive or to try and change others to their purpose and personal views, how does it feel when others are trying to do it to you

Writing such things off as partisan politics does everyone a disservice and hinders others who might want to contribute to a greater cause. You ask what has one to do with other? It has to do with personal honesty or lack of there of.

http://www.cjbooks.demon.co.uk/suffrage.htm

THE SUFFRAGETTES….WOMEN’S EPIC FIGHT FOR THE RIGHT TO VOTE
The fight for the right for women to vote was a violent revolution for the rights of equal citizenship led by Emmiline Pankhurst and her fellow Suffragettes. The following is a brief account of their fight for equal rights, and the women who were part of that sometimes bloody and violent fight.
In Manchester on October 10 1903, Emmiline Pankhurst’s patience finally ran out. Tired of being pleasant to MP’s in order to get them to give women the vote, she called for more militant action. ‘Deeds, not words’ was to be the motto of the Women’s Social and Political Union. (W.S.P.U.) Emmiline expected a fight but little did she envisage the violent and often savage struggle that was to follow on the basis of that motto. Her movement was confined to independent women only, with no party affiliations. They were women of principle and pursued their goal with great passion, determination and fortitude.
They were going to need all these attributes and more before their struggle was over.
On May 19, 1905, a deputation of ten women went to speak to the Prime Minister. Amongst those women was Emily Davies LL.D., who was seventy-six years old. It was Emily who handed the first women’s suffrage petition to the Prime Minister. In return all they received was some advice about ‘being patient’. This was not the result they wanted. They wanted to be taken seriously.

41. Who could keep Dallas covered up for 40 years?
The assassination was the seminal single event of the last half of the 20th century. It led directly to the mess we're in today.

Who could cover their tracks and put a lid on dissent? Only the BFEE.

They "sold" the initial cover-up of conspiracy by selling the idea that Oswald's commiehood would get us into an all-out nuclear war with the Soviets. Supposedly these conspirators had wanted enough of an impetus to get an invasion of Cuba, like Operation NORTHWOODS which JFK vetoed. So, "They" were supposedly denied.

You and I both know they weren't, nolabels. They fought Civil Rights and got property rights, Vietnam, Watergate, October Surprise, PROMIS-Inslaw, Nugan-Hand, Iran-Contra, BCCI, the S&L lootings, Iraq-gate, BNL, etc etc etc. And above all, they made money and held power.
