Dem Mayor who endorsed Bush in '04 loses big in primary

St. Paul Mayor Randy Kelly lost the non-partisan Mayors race to Democratic former City Council Member Chris Coleman by a whooping 52-27 percent with the Green candidate garnering 19%. Coleman and Kelly will still meet in November since they were the two highest vote getters. "This is the cost of endorsing Bush."

4. I'm not sure Randy Kelly was ever a Dem.

He's such a weasel that Norm Coleman endorsed him the last time around.
If I WAS going to vote for him (which I wasn't), that alone would have been enough to make me change my mind. Hmm...maybe you should change the first word in your subject line to "Damn." ;)

8. I got a call from Randy's campaign the last time around.

The guy started running down the talking points and when he came to "endorsed by Norm Coleman" I told him to stop right there. I told him there was no way I would ever vote for anyone that Norm had endorsed. The guy started laughing and said he had been hearing that a lot. Yeah, ol' Normie is pretty popular in St. Paul these days. :sarcasm:

Farheen Hakeem got 14% of the vote for Minneapolis Mayor:

and Elizabeth Dickinson got 19% of the vote in Saint Paul.

In Michigan, if you exceed 50%, you are declared the winner.
