Truth Is Casualty of Katrina's Aftermath
Updated: Wednesday, Sep. 14, 2005 - 3:10 PM

By JOHN SOLOMON
Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) - One of the bigger casualties of Hurricane Katrina's aftermath has been the truth itself. From federal emergency managers to Democrats, much fingerpointing _ and even the promises not to engage in it _ have fallen short of the facts.

For instance, the levees that broke weren't ones waiting for Army Corps of Engineer repairs as Democrats have implied. They were ones that had already been fortified, and still failed.

5. Yep. Here is how to translate what AP is saying
Bush* is at best guilty of negligent homicide, at worst crimes against humanity. To avoid appearing to be partisan for reporting the truth, we must find anything negative we can about a Dem to even the scales. :eyes:

2. The truth was a casualty...
..long before Katrina. But this article contradicts not the arguments from Democrats but the articles written by the Times Picayune from 2001 to date. Throwing shit is getting so passe.

3. Truth was lost well before Katrina.
It seems that it's now acceptable for everyone to lie about everything.

Bush's entire administration lied about Iraq, the economy, the environment, NCLB, SS, etc., etc. They lie about everything, even the inconsequential stuff.

Businesses lie about financial figures and sales; they lie about their competitors; they lie about their hiring practices.

Football coaches and politicians lie on their resumes. Then, they get hired elsewhere or promoted. Or they get a medal.

People are paid zillions of dollars to be professional liars. Rush Limbaugh, for example.

Then, there's the Internet. No explanation necessary.

Hell, even the Boy Scouts organization lies about how many minority members it has.

Nothing new. Maybe that's why we're not that surprised when people lie about bigger issues, like the plethora of lies spewing out of the aftermath of Katrina. It shouldn't surprise anyone, because it's standard procedure.

That's why Bush's claim of responsibility is such a joke. He hasn't been held responsible for anything else, so he probably thinks that this is no different.

6. They have been for a while now sadly...
Noticed their clear bias during the election.
