Poll question: I Am Really Wondering - Does America Give A Shit? Do They Care?
Does this country care in the slightest that our federal government (both parties) cares a hell of lot more about their own jobs and power than the good of the nation?

Just wondering if you are as pessimistic about things as I am...

4. Too many people do not know what is actually
happening. I have a few friends that I have to tell what is going on even though they can read and see TV. One indication is an aquaintance of mine tried to convince me WW 11 started in 1943. She was born in 1954. Well, having lived through it I could correct her and she still didn't want to believe me. When up against someone like that it bleeds me of any optimism. If this administration is not stopped NOW, we are lost.

7. I was thinking the same thing just this morning
During today's hearings, Senator Brownback was going on and on about a Down syndrome employee at the Senate, and how it "ennobled" them all to have him there, and he gave them hugs on the elevator, and Senator Hatch gave him ties all the time and I was thinking, these people don't care one bit about the Down syndrome guy or any other ordinary citizen, disabled or not, and the only reason Hatch probably gave him ties was that he was getting rid of old ties and it made him (Hatch) feel better about himself.

10. Thanks for the welcomes!
I will admit upon my introduction that I voted for Bush last time, but would not again. We (people who voted for him last time) can't figure out what the heck he's doing or why, all we can come up with is he's being controlled by some power bigger than himself (world power or corporate power or secret society power or whatever). After reading many threads, thought I would check in to see if you all have something better to offer!

13. well the view from here
I think most only care about their own lives and jobs...I was amazed at the apathy in my office re Katrina...and most barely even know there is a war on. Only one other person I work with was as infuriated as I with the federal response.
