I heard this last night from a woman who was thrilled that the offer of doctors from Cuba was turned down. Her logic was that they are Communist and couldn't be trusted to bring anything into the country.

OK... I pointed out to here the number of shipments we get every single day from China and how they just happen to hold around 40% of our T-bills to boot. Last time I checked they were a Communist country, too.

She tells me they're not, I tell her they are, we go back and forth for a few minutes. Finally she decides she just might be wrong about China and says, "well, the Cubans are evil." The argument ended when I told her at least they don't own our collective asses they way Communist China does.

Just for kicks I told her to grab a copy of "Thought Reform and the Psychology of Totalism" that should make her head spin off.
