Anyone see the damaging report on NBC about the Orleans Levee Board?

It was very harsh.

Basically said money given to them did not go to improve the levees, but rather to other places such as a highway going to a casino. $45,000 went to investigate a critic of the levee board and the same was given to him to settle a lawsuit over it.

One guy thrashed the board pretty good. One note: Tons of Reagan pics all over his wall.

The president of the board did say money for the levees comes from a different account. He also said 'the levee system worked'. He looked very bad.

and the funding was pulled because Bush wanted to finance his phony Iraqi invasion without cancelling the tax cuts.

I'm sure that finishing them wouldn't have cost a fraction of what it will cost now.
