Tweety Matthews and Lieberman Push for Jack Welch (NBC) as Czar
to rebuild NO's. Can we assume that Jack can get corporate donors to fund the rebuilding? Showing that the "Private Sector" will do the job without costing the taxpayers any money?

Is this what's going on? Sort of like Iacoca saved Chrysler and then it was sold off to Mercedes-Benz...will Welch (GE) work with Disney and others to rebuild NO's and sell it off to China when the Chinese call in their chips for all the Bonds they've bought to prop up our Real Estate spending spree since the Chimp took over?

2. There's a republican dream team for you!
Joltin' Joe, The Great GOP Hope, with Tweety to cheer on his every move.

3. I don't think it means a sell-off, but I know I've heard many
talking heads recommending a czar to head this mess in the Gulf.

I think it's a good idea, but SHOULDN'T be necessary! If those who were given the jobs to get this done can't do it, they shouldn't be in their positions!

Having said that, it wouldn't surprise me if Shrub named someone like Rudy Guliani(sp) because he does have experience with disaster clean up, and he did seem like he wasn't afraid to issue orders and make sure they were carried out. I doubt you'll see Jack Welch though. Jack is quite happy right now, and I don't he would acept such an offer, even if it was made.

4. The last thing we need is more CEO's running public agencies
Look at the ones we already have.

5. I've long seen Welch as one of the head puppeteers behind BushCo
Why would he want to imperil his carefully cultivated image of infallibility now? Is the GOP really that thin on the bench that they have to begin outing the men behind the curtain?
