i suppose eliminating poverty is as impossible a dream as eliminating terror, but i'd rather fight poverty, which in many cases is the cause of terrorism.

fuck bush and his war on terror that wastes lives and resources, let's fight poverty in america, and then in the world.

1. Someone wants us to believe that there isn't enough to go around for
Everyone. Since there isn't enough for everyone, you have to just accept what you get, because you're *lucky* to get that, see?

I don't believe this. I believe there would be enough for everyone if some weren't so greedy.

Harebo!

5. If people like Bill Gates and Oprah could somehow "make due"
with having under $1bil maybe some others could have just a little more.

6. No, no, you don't understand. Bill and Oprah, give charity to
those whom they decide are worthy. In doing so, they buy their "stair-way to heaven" and provide you/us with the opportunity to be greatful and to submit to "God's" will, i.e. accept what they, by means of nearly omnipotent Cronyism, prevent you from changing.

2. Yep, eliminate poverty and ignorance (guarantee everyone
the right to an education), and many of the World's problems would be solved.

10. The problem is that leaders like bush, hitler and mao knew/know that
informed people don't support their types of regimes.

So, as far as bush goes, you can forget any education reforms or improvements.

9. France's President Chirac has proposed an airline tax to fund poverty
relief efforts globally, that is to be presented to the UN during the current session. It's big news here, and very important, however, the concern is that Chirac isn't able to make the presentation himself since he's been sidelined with his vascular incident.

12. I think eliminating poverty is a very REAL possibility. . .
provided we understand that "poverty" isn't just not having access to a dozen brands of deodorant (or what have you). In other words, we need to discuss the QUALITY OF LIFE issues. We could all have less money and fewer products and still be much happier than we are now -- considerably less stressed out, too. But for that to work we have to build real communities rather than constantly being marketed the consumer culture of Wall Street and Madison Ave.
