Bush Katrina speech calls to 'think big':-

U.S. President George Bush's national address on Hurricane Katrina recovery Thursday night will ask citizens to think big, his press secretary told reporters.

Bush will speak from New Orleans about his plans for education, healthcare and other social services, with specific housing and job assistance for people who return to New Orleans to live, the New York Times said.

Since the Aug. 29 category 4 storm hit, emergency expenditures have soared, with new commitments reaching as high as $2 billion a day, the Washington Post said.

We're in the beginning of the rebuilding at this point, and there are a lot of ideas that people are expressing, said White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan. The president wants people to think big.

2. I am thinking big.
I think it would be really big news if Bush resigned and took Cheney with him.

6. Here come the payoffs for his campaign supporters.
Let's keep track of where the money goes if we can. Let's draw pictures for people. The money isn't going to go to the victims. It will go to big companies who have paid into Republican campaign coffers and to churches that have exhorted their members to vote for Bush. Let's watch this play out. It is utterly predictable. I wonder how many of the Bush brothers will find some way to get to some of the cash that Bush will be handing out in the next year or so.

9. Boy he's got nerve to speak about domestic issues
He hasn't given a shit about this country since he's been in office, unless it had something to do with his "faith" base.

10. well, give that there's NO MONEY, what are his choices? . . .
let's see . . .

- he could print money . . . but that would cause double digit inflation real fast . . .

- he could borrow money from, say, China . . . but they'd end up owning the country . . .

- he could raise taxes on the rich and on corporations . . . but that's against his religion . . .

or . . .

- he could CUT taxes! . . . yeah, that's the ticket! . . .
