Why Is Everything About "Can Bush Deliver/Do Job", etc. Tonight??
We have a "Bush-enhanced" disaster called Katrina that is a national disgrace, not to mention a real expensive fuck up. We have a Bush bogus war in Iraq that in the last few days has gone from really bad to out of control (the insurgents now are basically an army that's declaring civil war). We have a civil war declared on the American people by the oil companies and we're dying at the pumps. BUT the big concern of these pathetic media people is the burning question of whether Bush can redeem himself tonight and can rise in the polls, etc. For the love of K-rist, who the hell cares?? If we arise tomorrow and find his approval rating at a 78%, is the misery level in this country going to change? Do a bunch of dead poor in New Orleans come back to life? Do the parties in Iraq shake hands and say "aw..let's give up this blowin' the place to hell and live in peace"? Can you buy oil for $1.75 gallon tomorrow?? I'm so sick of these pathetic "journalists" making this all ABOUT Bush. God, it's like they assume we are all sitting on the edge of our seats, biting our fingernails and praying that "our team" can slam dunk that winning basket before the buzzer goes off. Get a clue media: only his base like this whining clown.

2. There is finally a lot of doubt in American minds
that Bushitler will ever perform well at anything. Maybe, just maybe, he'll pull off a miracle and give a decent speech. I'm not holding my breath.

6. Good speech, Bush
can't happen, it almost makes it tempting to watch tonight and I am not one that tolerates bush, but the body language I am betting will be 180 from the messge...

3. Yes, I get so tired of that. Actually, who cares
anymore where his rating numbers lie. As far as I am concerned he is already six feet under. I do wonder at times what the "press" thinks when they say that. Don't they know they look and sound pathetic?

4. They also look down on their audience by assuming it's all a
horse race with poll numbers.

You wouldn't let a doctor without the appropriate credentials tell you what to do. You wouldn't allow a teacher without credentials to teach. You wouldn't allow an airline pilot without credentials to fly people across the country.

But Journalism? You only need to know the right people. With their obsession with popularity/ratings, they make everything they do about themselves.

5. It's the media's job to prop up the bum
This is all Karl's orchestrated show. First, create an artificial goal. Then trot out your "product" (bush). Then, trot out your (republican) "analysts" to all proclaim how great the product (bush) is.

It will likely "work," only because that the media will say it did. For cleanup, bring out more fake polls showing how the public agreed with their (republican) pundits.

It's been done a million times in the past five years, and it has worked every time. Since the republican criminal enterprise, as Colter put it, "have the media," they have everything.

8. No, it's the media's job to MAKE YOU WATCH.
Honestly, who would want to watch this dogturd speech when there are plenty of other channels that are showing something better?

They know that, so they're trying to spark viewer interest! More viewers = more ad dollars. This is all about the bottom line!

9. Because it lowers the bar
The issue will be not, "What did Bush say", but "How did he say it".

That way, no matter how much bullshit he spouts out tonight, or how many outright lies he tells, they can say that he "sounded good" (even though that probably won't actually happen, the guy is a moron).

They are setting it up so they can praise him for a "strong speech" and make him look like a leader.
