IS THE PHOTO FAKE OR NOT? SERIOUSLY
There were many threads earlier this morning regarding the bush mother may I photo. I've been away from the forum for about an hour or so. Now I'm seeing photo fake threads.

Seriously, is it a fake or not?

2. Does it even matter whether or not it's fake?
There's a lot of shit to go after bush about...whether or not he needed a bathroom break is not one of them.

I'll take whatever I can get at this point. Any negative publicity on the chimp is good enough for me.

6. It's Reuters, not some fly-by-night blog.
Photojournalists don't Photoshop.
At least, not news photojournalists. Fashion photographers are a different story ;)

9. I thought for sure
it was a fake, but now with Reuters and the Times, and OMG, even DRUDGE having to spin it.....too funny. Many other issues more important of course, but it sure does reinforce the puppet president view.

10. Authenticated by Reuters. Here's the story:
http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001137252

NEW YORK In what seems destined to become one of the most joked about photos of the month, a well-known Reuters photographer on Wednesday captured President George W. Bush scribbling a note to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during a session at the United Nations. On the note is a message revolving around the need to take a "bathroom break."

The photo, which appeared on Reuters' official photo site, was quickly published all over the Web, though dismissed by some as a likely photoshop special. Others suggested that surely someone must have hacked the Reuters site. But a Reuters spokesman on Thursday told E&P the photo was legit.

"The photographer and editors on this story were looking for other angles in their coverage of this event, something that went beyond the stock pictures of talking heads that these kind of forums usually offer," explained Reuters' Stephen Naru. "This picture certainly does that."

(snip)

Absolutely authentic. They go on to say that the photographer had just spent a week in NO and was going back soon. I think that explains his contempt for Junior, don't you? ;)

it confirms every thing we ever said about the man being a clueless jackass. It is all just too perfect.

"Bathroom breaks" were common with some of the crowd I ran with, back in my misspent youth.

21. Take a look at this handwrting analysis of GWB
Edited on Thu Sep-15-05 01:23 PM by theHandpuppet
This would support the fact that the photo is indeed genuine.

http://www.handwriting.org/main/samples/gwbush.htm

You'll see in this small sample that Bush uses both printed and cursive letters. Note the two different "I's" in the sample, which fits with "I's" in the Reuter's photo. Although most of Bush's note in the Reuter's photo is printed (particularly the top portion) this is not uncommon for someone passing along a note to another person, rather than one people write for/to themselves.

Many other markers point to the fact that the handwriting in the photo is indeed that of GWB, particularly the letters "s" and "p" in the bottom portion of the note.
