Do Bush and the Republicans believe everything is a "free lunch"?
That you don't have to pay for anything? Just put it on the credit card? We can fight a war and not pay for it? We just put it on the credit card. And while we're at it, we'll just give a big honkin' taxcut to our best friends. The deficit doesn't matter. We can rebuild New Orleans and borrow the money. We don't have to pay for it. We'll just put it on the credit card. The only thing we really have to pay for is Social Security.

1. I don't know if they believe everything is a 'free lunch' but I sure do
know that they're all permanently 'out to lunch' as we used to say in my younger day.

2. Well, they are the "have mores". It's difficult to comprehend debt, loans
and credit cards when you've never had to deal with them on a personal level.

Buy, buy, buy!

3. Yes, that's how gangsters operate.

Except gangsters use guns and republicans use the levers of government to steal from us.

On edit:

How ironic is it that republicans use the slur, "tax and spend" Democrats? Republicans apparently believe it is better to "borrow and spend."

Democrats believe in paying the bills and not shifting the buren to future generations. Republicans believe in stealing from our grandchildren and are doing a great job of it.

8. "borrow & spend"
Great framing!!! How about a bumper sticker?

Better a tax & spend Democrat
than a borrow & spend Republican!

4. It's simple. Run up the bills and let your grandkids pay the tab.
No conscience, no moral obligations, no regard about anything but themselves.

They'll be dead and gone and your kids and their kids will pay forever.

It's called "conservatism"

6. Like your wording:
Using the word "believe", that is.

If you'd have said "Do Bush and the Republicans think everything is a "free lunch"?", then that's incorrect, because Repukes don't think.

And yes, that belief that someone will ALWAYS be there to bail you out is quite in line with the way their Fuhrer has always lived. So it's no wonder emulation of the Simian Monarch occurs on all levels.

7. They are looting the US treasury
Edited on Thu Sep-15-05 02:57 PM by CrispyQGirl
& don't care how bad things get for the rest of us. They feel confident that their riches will insulate them from the ugliness that is sure to come. What they aren't counting on is an angry & armed populace who will storm their gated communities in droves & burn their mansions to the ground. What the crowds do to them will be even worse.

They deserve every bad thing that happens to them.

9. "There's no such thing as a free lunch" and "Freedom isn't free"
don't apply to all Americans?

If someone has lots of money, they and their descendants won't have to fight and they buy enough politicians to pass laws that minimize their taxes. "Freedom and lunch are free for the wealthy."

11. Well, maybe not free...
but someone else is picking up the tab: either the middle class, or future generations. But NOT wealthy republicans or corporations. Thats all that counts to them.

12. It's Just Numbers
Honestly, these people don't see this as money...just numbers than can be generated and manipulated. There's no concept of the value of such things as a defecit or debt, since the money is taken now and the system is rigged so it can print more money when needed or raise taxes or squeeze interest rates when needed to milk more numbers.

The federal government is like a huge factory. It runs on dollars...and the numbers are so huge that it numbs those who work with it...even the biggest whistle-blower or best intentioned civil servant.

For this regime, it's a credit card that is spreading a lot of money to its special interests and they could care less since they, and their major supporters are immune to the real value of the numbers they play with. And since the majority of those who vote, vote for these assholes, the plundering has and will continue.

These are the last people who will ever feel from their actions. Most already have big nest eggs that means they won't have to rely on a SSI check or have to take two jobs in their 50s or 60s to pay the mortgage or rent. They're set...and their disdain is built on their only fear...that you and the "riff raff" will want what they have...and you're not gonna get it.

13. They are deliberately impoverishing our government....
They want to eliminate most of what we think of as "government". They don't want rich people to have to contribute to the education, health, or wellbeing of anyone. They want to eliminate the EPA, Dept. of Education, the FDA, the FCC, and anything else that protects the American people from the excesses of rapacious corporations...

The best way to do that is to make it impossible for the government to pay for any oversight function....

The quickest way to do that is to wage war and send the National Guard on one snipe hunt after another, while pouring cash into the coffers of "private contractors" or mercenaries like Blackwater and various divisions of Halliburton...
