from religious wrong--NOLA now 'abortion free'
(some of this has been posted before; however, I don't remember seeing this particular quote)

http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/9/22005b.asp

....

Rev. Bill Shanks, pastor of New Covenant Fellowship of New Orleans, also sees God's mercy in the aftermath of Katrina ...

....

“New Orleans now is abortion free. New Orleans now is Mardi Gras free. New Orleans now is free of Southern Decadence and the sodomites, the witchcraft workers, false religion -- it's free of all of those things now," Shanks says. "God simply, I believe, in His mercy purged all of that stuff out of there -- and now we're going to start over again."

4. Hoo boy
hand me the popcorn. I want to watch this New New Orleans evolve.

WHAT AN IDIOT. You know, you have GOT to think he is smarter than that but he figures his congregants are not and so he says these things because that will make the collection plate heavier.

7. I used to jump ugly with that POS in front of the clinics down there
every Saturday morning Bill and his band of merry pranksters would be down there harassing women. :grr:

Over time we noticed a subtle difference in how the anti's treated the clients; this was mid-city New Orleans, off Tulane Ave., and about 80 percent of the clients were African American. Shanks and his Greek chorus would make a halfhearted attempt to stop these women from entering -- then give it to them full force on the way out. Only when a white woman would show up would Shanks whip his minions into a frenzied satanic fever pitch to try to keep them from entering.

Damn. I should've retroactively aborted that hateful bigoted misogynistic prick when I had the chance.

8. Geez and here I was thinking
as I watch women wading through the muck and lacking food and water...
how many of them were pregnant? How were their babies? What about the fetuses in the early development stages? What about the premies who arrived due to spontaneous labor and how many spontaneous abortions resulted for the stress and hunger and filth.

Dumb me, never thought of all the "saved fetuses" due to the clinics being closed.

10. 'agape press'.....so what does the word 'agape' mean?
http://jesuit.ls.luc.edu/~paulgrubb/agapedef.htm

Agape. Outside the New Testament this word is rarely found in ancient Greek texts. To offer an interpretation of agape's meaning it is necessary to rely mainly on the instances where it is used in the New Testament itself. My interpretation is that agape is, besides being Jesus' characteristic qualification of the father principle, an abundant, overflowing, unconditional love that flows from union with the divine. It names the joy of the life of the saved. In one of the rare occurrences of agape in Greek literature outside the New Testament, Homer employs the term to name the joy and hospitality with which his family and friends welcomed Odysseus on his return to Ithaca. This suggests that a meaning of agape is "welcoming."

soooooo......'unconditional love' and 'welcoming'.......hard to believe that an organization calling itself 'agape press' would publish such an un-agape statement

12. Yes, now New Orleans is free.
But what Shanks doesn't seem to realize, is that the gays, the witches, the sodomites and everyone else that survived, are now spread even wider across the South.....D'oh! I guess God screwed that plan up :P

15. Right, and now........
they'll spread their evil magic far and wide, witches and goblins everywhere! I think they should be especially watchful on October 31. I hear that day has been the chosen as the start of their quest for world domination. BEWARE members of the "Church of Scary Noises and Things That go BUMP in the Night" of New Orleans! They're coming to get you and take you to their hoary underworld of unspeakable eternal torture and damnation!
Or it just may be Halloween night, I'm not really sure.

14. I heard they were busing in abortionists from other states..........
and making abortion mandatory for anyone wanting to move back into New Orleans. I think they said they were converting the New Covenant Fellowship of New Orleans into a temporary abortion clinic until the new, modern, mass abortion clinics are on line.
Anybody else hear this? :sarcasm:

What a piece of shit this guy is. People are suffering untold miseries and he's worried about embryos. Fuck you, asshole. Just, fuck you!
