For the last three days, the Senate has been interviewing John Roberts to determine if he should be our next Chief Justice. But Roberts dodged many of their most important questions. Over the last 3 days he directly refused to answer over 100 questions, and evaded countless more. His silence is unprecedented, and for someone nominated to shape the judiciary of this country for 40 years, unacceptable.


This is a pivotal moment. Going into this week's hearings, a large majority of the public was undecided about Judge Roberts and firmly believe we deserve to know the views Roberts is hiding.1 So in the next few days the media and our senators will be looking very closely to gauge the public reaction to Roberts' dodging.

This is a perfect time to write a quick letter to the editor to tell your community that when it comes to our basic rights—like equal voting rights, reproductive freedom, and worker protections, "no comment" is just not good enough. You can write and submit your letter online here:
