5. Well he did flush himself out in public
so hopefully they'll all be flushed out. The irony of the neocons going down in that cesspool of chemicals and water is beyond my wildest dream. I don't see any hope for them from here and I'm not an optimist.

It's over but the Dems had better shout out the 2005 New Deal and let everyone know that Katrina is the model of the true meaning of small government.

3. "Luck" has nothing to do with it. It's all about his ideology.
His election fraud was not bad luck. His neocon insanity in Iraq is not bad luck. His redistribution of wealth to the top 1% of the rich and powerful is not bad luck. His tin ear to those Americans who are not his Pioneers or Rangers but are in need of help is not bad luck. His enthusiasm for the bankruptcy bill, or keeping the minimum wage where it has been forever, or rushing to sign a bill exempting "recovery corporations" (aka Halliburton) from prevailing wages is not bad luck. It is all intentional, always has been, and always will be. Rove is the puppeteer tonight. Tragedy tomorrow; comedy tonight.

4. If the right-wing Christians didn't think they own God,
we could interpret this as a big fat warning from Him/Her about how we treat the poor, the environment, other countries. . .

6. Well I'm an athiest but I do wonder
why christian Dems haven't thrown this back at them as a sign from their god about their own distortions about family values and the wickedness of their neocon government.

9. Probably because blaming something like this on god or
gods really isn't very logical. We live in a violent universe. I think our little green and blue planet does pretty well keeping cataclysms to a minimum. Think about how hostile the other planets are to life.

15. Rational people know that
but you are not dealing with rational people so asking freepers whether (from their own perspective)it is possible that their 'vengeful god' is angry with them and their leaders can't do too much harm. I mean a few of them must be wondering about now. Fundamentalists only think one way and it makes no sense using logic with them. They are very jumpy these days. Why should Fallwell(sp?) and Robertson have all the fun.

7. Why would any god punish the most helpless among us?
I don't think the Christians have it right if that's what they believe.

13. Isn't it obvious that
there is no interactive god? This planet may not support the human species unless there are some drastic measures imposed to stop the destruction of the biospehere. It is damn well also obvious that the RW in this nation refuse to protect the environment and the humans. It may come down to destroying them before they destroy our planet and us.

17. The worst -why?
It is official. According to the agency that deals with these matters, Katrina is the worst hurricane disaster in US history and she touched down while Bush was on vacation at Crawford. It is comical that he would not talk to Cindy for he's sure found his voice a few days after being AWOL when New Orleans needed federal leadership.

This happened under his watch and history will record it that way. History will nto be kind to him either.
