So How Many Are STILL Missing From NOLA?

I have a missing friend from there who called his family after the storm, but they still haven't heard from him since.

Here's a simple question that I can't find an answer to: how many are still missing? Unless I'm not seeing something, the Red Cross site only has a way to register your missing person, you can't view the list, or how many are still missing from what neighborhood or whatever?

1. 140,000 as of monday

i'm sorry that's the last time i had a number, they seem to be squelching it now

in my personal experience the majority of the ppl easily found have already been found

for instance i'm in a listserve every day we post the number of missing, the number of dead, and the number of those found

this morning was the first day we found ZERO new survivors

pretty soon we're going to have to acknowledge that the remaining missing are gone

it is very difficult

2. I'm wondering too -- I have two

cousins who nobody's heard from at all. The rest of our family's slowly gotten in touch one by one, all but these two (they had decided to stay & ride out the storm)
