Freedom and Democracy to the Region" Speech that he's given many times. It was "tweaked and words were changed" and someone tried to soften the Terra and Killers and Looters" with some compassion crap...but to me it sounded like the same old Promises he gave about Iraq. And, look what's happened there.

I hope to hell he isn't creating another Iraq in the Gulf when folks get wise that he basically isn't going to do anything but "Privatize" the area and drive people into "Mobile Home Cities" on "higher ground" (as he said in the speech).

Already a group of Officials from St. Bernard's Parish is ripping the hell out of the speech saying that FEMA has already signed contracts with Private Companies NOT based in Louisiana. They felt they still aren't getting any help and that the money isn't going to get to the business owners who are all in Baton Rouge but have no phones to connect with their fellow business owners in other areas. They think that they will be cut out of most of the rebuilding efforts and don't understand why they aren't getting the help they need now.

It seemed to be a speech to appeal to Democrats rather than his base to me. And, we all know he hates us...so I think it was "Iraq Speech Repeat" with lots of smoke and mirrors. He also could barely control his smirk. :shrug:
