BILOXI, Miss. — The deployment of Canadian sailors and soldiers to hurricane-ravaged Mississippi will not last as long as first thought because the spirit of free enterprise has taken hold along the U.S. Gulf Coast, military officials say.

One of the American commanders overseeing the Canadian effort said today that she expects her ship to be recalled soon, perhaps within two weeks, as civilian agencies regain control of devastated communities.

Capt. Nora Tyson, skipper of the assault ship USS Bataan, was talking in terms of days, rather than the month Canadians had been expecting.

The use of sailors from HMCS Athabaskan, HMCS Toronto and HMCS Ville de Quebec as manual labour for cleaning up public buildings and properties "will probably last for the next several days as we try to turn things back over to the local communities and the state," Tyson said in an interview with The Canadian Press.

the USians are too wrapped up in the *'s speech. And I don't blame them. I just have had enough. We (Canadians) have to cut ties with this corrupt government, or else we will go down as well. You simply don't need us any more than we need you. The sooner this bunch of fascists understands that the better. I wish Canada would relax it's immigration standards or I'd join you. We're skilled and solvent but you need written affidavits from four saints to go Canuck, not that I blame you. I wouldn't want all of us either.

8. I beg to differ

If you are a solvent person with a trade and/or a degree that is recognised in Canada, we are open and welcome. Go to the government of Canada site and check out the immigration page. It has a check list for people that want to immigrate. If you met the requirements, it is very simple. I speak of this from experience. My husband (from a 3rd world country - Peru) even though he was married to me, had to met certain requirements. If you want a job, and you have a trade licences from the states, there are LOTS of jobs. Unfortunately they are in the northern part of Canada (i.e. Fort MacMurray - oil fields). But we are absolutely desperate for people from the trades. We just have very high standards.

17. Sorry, this took so long..I was

very tired last night.

I went to the Maritime Provinces with my friend..she drove up through New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia(my favorite), Cape Breton(Good fiddling and piano in the Red Shoe Pub owned by a couple of Rankin sisters), and Prince Edward Island and back again!

We saw The Proclaimers from Scotland in Halifax on the 10th of September(They were Awesome in person!)

I loved it and the Canadians..they all knew what I was talking about when I said I didn't like the bush regime.

I'm moving back to Hawaii in a couple of years, though, and will be near my son and his family to be..so I'll just have to visit often.
