Electricity came on in the blocks around Bush's motorcade...
...just 30 minutes before he arrived...just in time for his motorcade to arrive, according to Brian Williams.

So Bush really is so in a bubble, he didn't even know the lights were still out!

2. They lit up the backdrop like Tinkerbell's castle at Disneyland
He wasted electricity people are starving for.

His speech was nothing but neon buzz.

6. Yep
My parents had it going earlier to hear what he had to say and I was fixing dinner in the kitchen in the next room and could hear the whole speech. It was nothing new. Just "this is happening and that is happening" nonsense that has been talked about in his more recent press conferences. Nothing new. The democratic response told more in thirty minutes!

8. That's it!!!!
I had the speech on, but you know - If you look directly at the screen he will steal your soul! So I didn't really see it.
I was reading the comments about the "prettified un-destroyed" backdrop, trying to remember what it looked like... I just kept getting the image of the Disney castle - I thought I was just stoned. Thanks!

3. NO!
They promised not to turn the electricity on in the Quarter until it was thoroughly checked. A fire there would raze it.

4. Williams said you could hear alarms going off all over the place
Security systems kicked back on with no one there to reset them.

I cannot believe they did this. What is more amazing is that since they didn't show us Bush driving in, or greeting people, or anything else but him against that backdrop, the electricity must actually have been turned on just so Bush would believe the words they told him to read -- that the lights were coming back on in NO.

God, this is so frightening. Our already naked emperor is now just a skeleton.

5. Oh God...
I'm glad Williams is reporting this. He and Anderson Cooper have been great with this whole ordeal. So they are purposley doing this to people!
