What Are the Duties of a Government in a Democracy? |
|
I thought that Government was loyal to serving the interests of the whole- (rather than the 5% of our wealthiest elite population).
I thought that Government was obliged to protect the health and safety of ALL THE PEOPLE (rather than the interests of multi-national corporations and another nation).
I thought that Government was committed to the "rule of law" (rather than intentionally creating ridiculous rationale for betraying even funadamental civil and human rights laws).
I thought that Government was dedicated to advancing the ideal of democracy (rather than suppressing it).
I thought that Government was supposed to advance human progression rather than exploit and profit off human oppression and weakness.

I ask of you to define what "governance" in a democracy is supposed to be (aside from assumptions associated with the "electorate").
