Examples of the opposite can be seen in the Scandinavian countries.

Hitler, while very authoritarian, was actually very moderate economically, far to the left of say, Margaret Thatcher.

Unfortunately, economically left leaning leaders have usually also been very authoritarian (Stalin, for example)
