At this rate, Bush will Never get re-elected
sigh.

Why is that his numbers are falling through the floor AFTER the election.

Its just frustrating. His numbers are horrid, yet it won't make any difference since he cant be impeached, nor will he run again.

So while I take solice in his failings, it doesnt really seem to matter anymore.

1. It matters to the repukes who are looking at 06 and 08.
It matters a hell of a LOT to them. The more he fucks up the more they have to make the hard decision whether or not to distance themselves from him (which would be smart, but perceived by them to be risky) or stay near him (which would be totally stupid, but less risky in their minds).

Also, the Dems are just being fucking HANDED gift-wrapped early Christmas presents with all these colossal fuck ups. Talk about the repukes practically writing the Dem Convention speeches in 08 for them!

So yeah, bush is done no matter what. But the repukes are still going to want to win the White House and seats in Congress (and not lose the ones they have) and he's making it harder and harder for them.

6. Once they start looking at funding this new WPA, they will have to
sink or swim because he has left with all the paddles. They are either conservatives that want to hold the bottom line, and therefore won't vote for the funding needed or they will vote for the funding and see uprisings in every city in the country with ghettos and slums wondering where their help is. blivet** made a speech tonight committing them all to fight poverty, not just in NO, but in the whole country.

As Jon Stewart said the other day "the bush nightmare - helping poor people" and it will paint them all with a broad brush, which ever way they step.

2. To get re-elected he would first have to get elected.
His only hope for a third term were buried with Rhenquist.

3. I feel you on that
While I'm happy he is sinking in the polls to me it really doesn't matter. House Republicans will distance themselves from him before the next mid-term election and Bush will still be the King he thinks he is.

4. They're going to struggle mightily with that distancing thing.
I mean, do they prop him up and pretend he was better than he was and try to ride on those shaky coattails?

Or do they truly separate themselves from them?

If they do, the question then becomes (for repuke voters) what IS their party, anyway? bush has been defining it for (at that point) eight years. So are they going to distance themselves AND re-define their party in the process?

Or just distance themselves but pretend everything bush said about the party was correct? That wouldn't ring true, because then the question would be "so why distance yourself from him?"

They are running into a huge identity crisis.

7. I think those coattails are shaky, nonexistent paper trails.

You can't ride what you don't have. And all that "poof" is proof to the truth. (I think I was just channeled by a Jessie Jackson wanabe.)

While they delayed the mandate for verifiable paper trail voting, we still have their collective congressional record to bat around. And it is... what... incriminating.

Calling all progressive candidates. You can beat these scumbags. Just do it with the people's money.

5. I feel your frustrations completely.
I hope all the repukes who voted for this thug feel the effects of this administration for years to come.

I hope they have to declare bankruptcy like me. I hope they have trouble finding jobs as a result of this f--ked up economy.

I hope and pray everyday to the goddess that they regret their dumba--decision to fraudulously select this idiot.
