Poverty and racism are related. Under this administration poverty has grown.
We are not ready for another terrorist attack, partially due to mismanagement of funds and cronyism. We need a balance sheet accounting for money spent and for what.
Privitization and deregulation have gone too far and are not working. Corporations need to be given a bill of rights and responsibilities. Power of corporations need to offset by the will of the people, not just "letting the markets work".
Relocation and urban development. Our major cities could reduce poverty by concentrating on a combination of these 2 issues.
Federal and state and local government need to communicate and work together better, without power grabbing.
The media can do their job when they want to.
Our military is over taxed. We need more National Guard available here in the US.
What have you learned from Katrina? How can the Democratic party take the lead with what we have learned? Any Dem running for office in the next 2 years needs to frame social programs and ideas as it relates to Katrina.
