Widow wants access to "fragging" trial in Iraq
http://www.recordonline.com/archive/2005/09/15/allen15.htm

The widow of a slain New York Army National Guardsman says she's being denied a chance to see the military hearing of her husband's accused killer.

Barbara Allen, widow of 1st Lt. Lou Allen, is outraged that the military won't grant a request for a live video feed of Staff Sgt. Alberto Martinez's court appearance in Iraq on Monday.

The Army has charged Martinez with two counts of premeditated murder in the deaths of Allen and Capt. Phil Esposito.

Allen, 34, who was a science teacher at George F. Baker High School in the Tuxedo School District, lived in Milford, Pa. He grew up in Chester. Esposito, 30, who was an investment banker on Wall Street, lived in Suffern.

The two died in a June 7 explosion at their base in Tikrit, Iraq. Their deaths are the first case of "fragging," or the murder by an enlisted soldier of a commanding officer, in the war in Iraq.

3. I wonder if any fragging incidents have been covered up?
The Iraq war is the kind of war that infuriates soldiers on the ground just like Viet Nam. There were many incidents of fragging in Nam. I wouldn't be surprised if there were not more incidents in Iraq.
