2. Brits rejected evoting
Edited on Fri Sep-16-05 09:24 AM by Voice1
British recently looked into evoting, but rejected it, because the system was so open to fraud. I've an article about it somewhere, will try and find it.

here it is:

http://politics.guardian.co.uk/egovernment/story/0,12767,1564126,00.html
The constitutional affairs minister, Harriet Harman, used a written parliamentary answer to announce the change of heart, after trials of e-voting in local council elections showed systems were expensive, unreliable and open to abuse.

Although welcomed by some voters, the technology did little to encourage more people to take part.

"The government has decided not to invite applications from local authorities to conduct electronic voting pilots in the May 2006 local elections," Ms Harman said.

5. Paper ballots AND HAND COUNTS is what the original post said. How
Edited on Fri Sep-16-05 10:12 AM by In Truth We Trust
do you suppose they might be miscounted? This method is tried and true and prevents widespread fraWd on large scale. I'm suggesting going back to the future so to speak. The goal is to eliminate any and all electronic vote casting and tabulating equipment which by their nature are completely vulnerable to the fraWd we witnessed in 2002, and 2004.

Welcom to DU btw.
