Anyway, Michael Reagan has a radio show and had some asshat subbing in for him (not sure who the asshat was, but he was NOT the son of a former president, no sir) who said, "The US needs to just get out of South Korea." on account of the fact that the South Koreans are ungrateful to us for saving them from the perils of communism and if it weren't for us, they'd be "picking kernels of rice off of the ground". The South Koreans are apparently wanting to remove the 15' bronze statue of McCarthur that graces their benighted land because to them it represents "occupation".

He was pitching this notion of removing all US military from So. Korea and how it will save us money, and how they should be able to take care of themselves and if they can't, tough shit, they're asking for it and blah blah blah.

Since these schills all basically get their marching orders from the Powers That Be, I wonder if this is some new WH initiative we're seeing test-flown, kinda like the assassination of Hugo Chavez...

Whattaya think, DUers? Is this just the asshat talking, or are we really going to leave So Korea?

Part of PNAC is to militarily encircle China. You can't do that if you leave Korea.

3. We're not leaving, only the infantry is being pulled

Front line infantry troops have become moot and have mostly been replaced with higher technology positioned further back from the DMZ. I understand the change helped free up a couple of Brigades of soldiers for deployment to Iraq.

4. Two great benefits to leaving S. Korea:

1) It frees up 30,000 troops for the shooting war;
2) It makes it necessary to nuke N Korea when they try to take advantage of the 'tripwire' being gone.

Rummie really wants to try out his little battlefield nukes and bunker busters.
