Anyone just listen to Fresh Air? Who was that guy talking of FEMA denying
aid from coming into the city? He saw it first-hand.

Seems to be several different stories today and I can't tell which one was this guy:

1. Many countries, many citizens and many organizations, including the
Red Cross, were denied into NOLA and were sent away. Mayor Daley, Chicago, offered fire trucks, rescue vehicles, boats, manpower and other things and FEMA said no. Needless to say, DALEY WAS PISSED. There were ships loaded and ready to head to the US from other countries and FEMA never got back to the countries with an answer. France offered water purification systems and were told no. Cuba and Venezuela offered help too. Cuba offered to send 1500 doctors. Chavez offered cheap fuel to the victims. Both were told to take a hike. Many, many trucks loaded with food and water were sent away.

One would think this administration wanted the Gulfcoast citizens to suffer. :grr:

Well, this guy some stuff first-hand...very good eyewitness account.
He was saying he saw first-hand several incidences of FEMA turning back aid. If a truck wasn't on their clipboard, it was turned away. Civilians who's rescued people (some schizophrenic, some in pain, some diabetic, etc.) and brought them to dry land where FEMA officials were located were told that they would be taken to hospitals. This guy didn't trust them and came back hours later and the same people were still sitting there, unattended to.

4. He should be a witness at the Katrina investigation hearings
Bush is going to have. :eyes: I'm sure he'll be first in line to testify. :sarcasm:

That is unbelievable.
