Listened to part of Shrub's speech on NPR this AM - he sounded drunk!
It is one thing to watch him speak and the be completely spellbound by the jaw-cow-chew-cud thing, his blank expression, improper or wrongly placed handmovements (plus the fact that I was waiting for the horse to kick him in the head) - and yet another to just listen to him. He was slurring badly, and it made me wonder if he tied one on prior to his sweaty performance last night.

1. Looking at him, I wondering if he had stroked out.
If listening without the TV made it seem worse, then he must have sounded really bad. I thought he was reading it fairly well, but his mouth had this drooping thing going on.

2. He was speaking from the French Quarter!
It may have been habit, when in the FQ act like the way you always acted there.
It could be he was just intoxicated from the excitement of being in the French Quarter.
