How Come Gas Prices Fell Big Time Overnight?
Not that I'm cynical or anything....but, isn't it convenient that at the moment Bush is trying to get himself out of the public opinion sewer, bingo, the prices fall. (Labor Day we were at $3.69 and today we are $2.69). Now, I know there's a whole bunch of 'market' reasons. But let's face it--the oil barrons, the corporations and the wealthy know that GAS is the #1 thing pissing people off (Iraq and NO put together doesn't make a dent in them like 'gas prices'). I've always said that these bastards were going to gouge us until somebody started to scream and the regime became effected by the scream. When I see this plunge so rapidly and just in "coincidental" time with the day after Bush's speech (when the media will poll and tell us if Georgie is loved again or not), it confirms to me that we have been jerked around and pillaged by these slime. And now we are treated in order to save his hide and allow the repuke Congress to continue pushing through their corporate agenda. Once his numbers are safely up, get ready for another "gas crisis".

3. Because Bush's speech tanked?
Last ditch effort to raise his approval rating, imho.

9. Since gas prices vary from region to region, identifying the region helps.

7. Isn't it sad 2.49 looks 'cheap' now?
Back in May I nearly had a heart attack when it tipped over 2 bucks, now 2.50 is a bargain.

10. Was it really $2.00 in may?
I thought it was closer to $2.50.

I do remember it was around $1.30 before Bush took over.

8. they make money on the upside and the downside
it will go back up when they get done making money on the downside. and of course, the boys don`t want to lose the republican house and senate in 2006.

12. Well, it went down 4p per litre in the UK overnight
which is about 27 cents per US gallon. So much of it really could be the international price of refinery gasoline.
