Bush wants to cut spending, rather than raise taxes. What "spending" would you advise him to cut?

I'll start: corporate welfare to the oil companies

"We got to maintain economic growth, and therefore we should not raise taxes," Mr. Bush said. Working people have already been subject, in effect, to a tax increase through higher gasoline costs, he said, "and we don't need to be taking more money out of their pocket."

What you miss, Mr. Bush, is that your prior tax cuts for the extremely wealthy and for corporations did little to stimulate the economy. What little stimulation there was came from the tax rebates you sent out (2001, I believe) - this according to Paul O'Neill, former Treasury Secretary, in The Price of Loyalty.

Studies have shown only a handful of farmer would benefit from

elimination of the estate tax. Virtually all, with appropriate tax planning and a slight increase in the amount of income excluded from the estate tax, would not be subject to the estate tax.

13. Halliburton and it's subsidiaries need to be cut off from the

government tit. Not only is it a company that is constantly on the edge of being legal in it's dealings, it's already made so much money from corporate welfare, that I don't think it needs anymore.



I think they need an independent counsel to investigate them and their dealings.
