Do you think Bush has the nation on the right track?

Definitely 28%
Somewhat 28%
Not at all 42%

I know. I know. The disapproval numbers are still too low, but for an aol poll, considering the number of wingers, these are not good numbers for Bush.

1. Interesting
I used to think there was about 40% of the population that would give Bush good mark regardless of how much of a baffoon he was. But that mark seems to have gone to 30% over the past 6 months in looking at various polls.

2. Say what you want about AOL

polls - the actual AOL system sucks. I do think, though, the polls are a decent bellweather of public opinion at large. The wsings are dramatic and follow popular trend. I don't say that scientifically - I know statistically they aren't worth bandwidth they consume - but they do respond well to popular trend.

I watched the Iraq war trend on AOL. Pretty decent no war support until the war started - then a huge bounce for Bus*. That followed national trends. Now, the decline, again following national trend.

I wouldn't trust AOL to name the best breed of dog for my kids, or if subscribers thought Kobe really raped that girl in Colorado, but I do think they do a reasonable job of capturing national political swings when the trend is wide change. Further proof that Bus* is an idiot.

edit for attempt at clarity
