FORT BLISS, Texas -- An Army soldier has pleaded guilty to being a part of a plan to smuggle cocaine on military planes.

Army Staff Sgt. Kelvin Irizarry-Melendez has pleaded guilty in Texas to conspiracy, wrongful importation of cocaine, and a money charge. He'd been stationed in Colombia as part of the U.S. war on drugs. snip

Irizarry-Melendez is one of four soldiers who have been jailed since their arrests in the case earlier this year.

1. Back in 1972 the USS Albany made a trip to Rotterdam, Holland.
I knew sailors who paid cash for new automobiles and Harleys when we arrived back in the states.

4. I knew a boatsman mate who sealed 25 kilo's of black afghani hash
and sank them in 5 gallon paint cans in the paint locker onboard ship. The feds brought on drug sniffing dogs, and they found plenty of hashish, but the bricks in the paint cans never were discovered.

3. Kinda like Elvis asking Nixon to be a secret federal drug agent while
keeping a prescription stash large enough to give a pharmacy a run for its money.
