Question re: Posse Comitatus Act
Edited on Sat Sep-17-05 03:06 PM by texpatriot2004
"Speaking on the Senate floor Thursday, Sen. John Warner, R-Va., chairman of the Armed Services Committee, said, ``I believe the time has come that we reflect on the Posse Comitatus Act.'' He advocated giving the president and the secretary of defense ``correct standby authorities'' to manage disasters."

What is the Posse Comitatus Act? I have heard it mentioned before but don't understand its implications.

1. Posse Comitatus defines the degree to which the military (DOD)
may perform domestically, specifically precluding them from law enforcement

6. every member of the aryan nation is
locking and loading since thursday. this is the main act that these people believe will be repealed and allowing the international jewish conspiracy to take over the usa. there`s other things such as race wars and other dirty race theories but the posse act is what really scares them....politics makes strange bedfellows

7. We don't need the US Army, we need the guard BACK.
The guard can do ALL functions asked by a governor, including police duties.

If the guard was doing the job which Americans intended it to do there wouldn't be a need to provide federal military any changes in the law.

8. My feelings exactly
Had the guard not been in Iraq, where they're not fully prepared to perform, we never would have needed the military. But, I guess Bush needs the rest of the military for Venezuela.
