FEMA truck almost ran my truck driver hubby off the road tonight
Edited on Sat Sep-17-05 09:58 PM by cynatnite
As many know my hubby is a truck driver and while I was talking to him a few minutes ago he saw an oversized load in front of him. It's illegal for loads like that to be on the road at night and on weekends.

When he tried to pass, the driver moved to the middle of the interstate and almost put the house trailer into my hubby's truck. He had to swerve to keep from hitting the idiot.

Hubby said it was a FEMA truck and was the third one he's seen in the last few weeks. He called the highway patrol and ALL restrictions have been lifted. They don't even have to have a pilot car.

This is very dangerous because of narrow bridges, difficulty seeing and other major problems.

I can understand emergency vehicles needing these sorts of things lifted, but with such large oversized vehicles late at night and no pilot cars, this isn't just dangerous...it's stupid.

2. One thing Bush has accomplished even if he doesn't get to destroy
FEMA but has to redirect energy and expertise back in that direction... they will have to re-name FEMA.

3. Everything this idiot administration does endangers other people's safety.
It's amazing how they continue to out-f*ck-up the previous f*ck-ups.

Geez-o-criminetlies. We do NOT need more tragedies because Bush's poll numbers are in the tank.

I hope your husband will be okay out there on the highways.

It's too bad that no one in this country can EVER feel safe at ANY time with these jackasses running the country.

4. Tombstone Safety Standard Setting
Setting safety standards after tombstones occur. Or, in this case, re-instating. How are Bush and Chertoff going to look if there is a fatality where a car is forced off a bridge into water by a FEMA oversized load?
