Sept 24th -- Help for bad backs, knees, etc?
Okay,

Since it looks like a large amount of protestors will be "older" does anyone have any suggestions how to stand for 8 hours with bad backs, knees, etc? I stood for over 4 hours to see Kerry last year and thought I was going to either drop from the heat, or my knees were going to totally give out.

I thought about the wraps for the knees, but that doesn't take care of my back.....

Anyone know if we can take chairs? lol

Suggestions?

1. there are some lightweight cane type seats
that you can use to lean on and then fold open to sit on. Try maybe disablitity type on line sites? Good luck with that.

2. I'd suggest one of these:
http://www.amerimark.com/cgi-bin/amerimark/cat_item.html?prod=22074&media=G02098&days=XVQ

My ex's father had myasthenia gravis, and carried one of these where ever he went. When he needed to stand, it gave him extra support, and when he needed to sit, he could.

My best guess, anyway.

Have fun - Wish I could be there, but it's too far and we're too poor right now and I'm on a big project I can't leave.

4. Camp type chairs
We carry chairs that fold up practically to the size of an umbrella. They have a shoulder strap and are very lightweight. All the camping stores have them.
