Buy Williams Sonoma N.Orleans Cookbook & they donate full price
Edited on Sun Sep-18-05 12:10 PM by Danmel
I got this offer in my e-mail- buy the Williams Sonoma New Orleans cookbook between 9/16 and 10/16 and they will donate the entire Retail price of $24.95 to Hurricane relief- so if you like to cook Gumbos and Muffaletas and Beignets- here's your chance. Nice gesture. Makes a great Christmans gift (Hanukkah gift too to all your Jewish friends who eat Oysters and Crawfish!)

1. PROFITS??
Probably ONLY about 10%. Donate directly makes more sense unless you REALLY need the cookware. Remember they will write it off as a charitable donation!

2. Nope. They are donating the full retail price.
As a collector of cookbooks, I bought this to add to my collection. And, I got the added nice thought of an additional donation to the red cross.

6. In that case...It's very nice
I'm sorry to be so cynical but it is already getting old how everyone is getting on the bandwagon. Where was Corporate America when these people needed a job BEFORE Katrina?

4. Not profits! But the full retail price!
Don't be so cynical. Read it again. This is a good deal.

When you purchase our Foods of the World: New Orleans book from September 16 through October 16, Williams-Sonoma will donate the full retail price of $24.95 (excluding sales tax and shipping charge) to the American Red Cross in support of its hurricane-relief efforts.

Did you cross post in the cooking forum? Would you, or would you mind if I did?

7. I just called
and ordered a copy. (Cookbook junkie here). The woman did tell me the whole price is being donated. It is on back order until Oct 13th. They have to go to another printing now, which I guess is a good thing.
