Thinking of some kind of frame- "pillaging legislation"-
Edited on Sun Sep-18-05 05:00 PM by BullGooseLoony
that way of putting it isn't so good, but you get the idea, right?

What's the correct grammar, there, while maintaining the connotation?

An expert would throw in some kind of alliteration, as well, or something else that would make it more catchy.

6. Can you relate it back to a Congressional term, like "legislation"
or "bill," etc.?

Thinking Lakoff, here- framing. Trying to actually help.

2. Dean nailed it--"Culture of Corruption"
like vultures, they seek to pick the flesh off the dead and dying of New Orleans rather than restore them to health.

10. George Lakoff is great...
and another linguistic wizard is Tad James.

Tad teaches hypnosis, NLP, and other personal growth strategies.

If you want to have some fun, name an issue or particular piece of legislation you would like to re-frame and lets get our minds together to work on it.

11. That's what I'm hoping....the hope is to put "pillage" and "legislation,"
and the connotations of each together, at once....HOPEFULLY with some kind of alliteration, but any kind of "catchiness" will do.

14. Ehhh...
Like, alright...

You know how "partial-birth abortion" took on, right?

Same kind of thing. Doesn't have to be alliterative (although it seems to help).

It needs to be *seemingly* non-partisan, deliberatively, in its terminology.

"REGULATIONS" was a good start...although that actually has a bit too much of a Democratic feel to it. Try adding something to "regulations," without the radicalness of "ransack"....

16. are you writing a speech or just framing an issue?
It might help if you tell me how you want this to be utilized.

I am familiar with hypnotic language patterns that can be sprinkled in if you are writing a speech.

17. Useage: wide.
Edited on Sun Sep-18-05 07:24 PM by BullGooseLoony
We'd want this to become fairly common terminology- but, with the subtle connotations that we want.

It can't be obvious, is the point.

I realize you're probably getting frustrated, but also realize that I probably wouldn't have posted this as a question if it was an easy thing to do.

20. Insider funding legislation?
Insider is a bit less out there than, say, thief or crony...

Corporate welfare acts? No Bid Funding Bills???
