What the hell happened to US America?

Scary to think Abu Ghraib did not stir Americans to question Bush's character flaws, nor did the Iraq War, the Plame case, or Halliburton, or Enron....

Only massive gruesome deaths, in their FACES, up close and PERSONAL, with no faceless institution to help, and no father figure symbol to tell them all is fine standing on a pile of rubble with a blowhorn on TV.

They saw they could be vulnerable personally....

1. I disagree with that, I think it has been a gradual process
It also has taken a long time to reach the average American due to the stranglehold on the media here.

Most people I know have been awake for a long time - which is why Bush was never elected in the first place.

5. They were exposed to 4 days of nothing but truth about how incompetent
our pres and his gang really are. They now realize that all that protection * promised about terrorist is non-existant. There has not been that must truth in the MSM in 5 years.

6. There was no way they could control the spin on this early on
Like with Bush's other disasters.

They couldn't prevent the outflow of information of something happening on American soil. There were no media blackouts, there were no embedded journalists. It was happening on live TV, and people were glued to the coverage. There was a bigger audience watching the news in the days after Katrina than usually do.

What they were saying vs. what we were all seeing with our own eyes wasn't matching up. They were caught red-handed in their lies.

Their main pull was their ability to "protect" us, and they failed MISERABLY. On live TV. You just.can't.spin.that.

I think, hope I guess, that some of the people that finally had the cobwebs removed are starting to put the pieces of the puzzle together.
