In this day and age why are idiots STILL selling fricking Freedom Fries |
|
So I went with a friend to a local community fair and we were going to grab some food from the local vendors at the event. I was hankering for a hamburger and went to one of the local vendors where I saw a big sign advertizing for burgers.
I place my order but they were just finishing a batch and 'do you mind waiting a minute?'. Sure, sounds good. SO I'm standing there getting my money out when I look up and there it is: Freedom Fries.
68% of this country now know the war was a mistake so maybe the French (who btw, did not invent the french fry) were smart to stay out of the war. But Freedom Fries was so fricking 2003 when people were dumbasses and believed everything that Bush told us (well the bulk of the country - not us!).
So I told the guy to cancel my order. He looks at me and I just say "I don't patronize freedom fries". Luckily their was some Australian place on the other side that had cheeseburgers and FRENCH fries. Bought the stuff there instead.

I lost my link to it. It's a perfect comment on the whole "freedom fries" jingoistic idiocy.

6. Well, you can still get a salisbury steak... |
|
...(formerly hamburger steak)...Thankfully, liberty cabbage died out as a name for saurkraut. That was way worse than freedom fries.

11. Yeah, but I don't think it was jingoistic |
|
Just some reporter thought weiners looked like daschunds and called them hot dogs, and it stuck.
Of course, that could be an urban myth.

10. Can we call them "Facism Fries?" |
|
"We're FUCKED" Fries?
"Go Fuck Yourself" Fries?
"Fundie" Fries?
"Faith-Based" Fries?
"Frist" Fries?
"Fallujah" Fries?
"FEMA" Fries?
"Failure" fries?
I am sure there are thousands of other accurate names for simple pommes frites...
But I am addicted to POUTINE!!! Ca j'aime ca beaucoup!!!
