it's election season in New York State, and candidates for office in local communities are starting to make the door-to-door rounds to ask for votes . . .

had my first one of the season yesterday . . . a candidate for Town Council rang the bell and introduced himself when I opened the door . . . as he started into his spiel, I interrupted him . . .

Me: Excuse me, but I just have one question for you.

Him: Sure . . . what would you like to know?

Me: Who did you vote for for president in the last election?

Him: Well, that really has nothing to do with the town.

Me: Who'd you vote for?

Him: I voted for President Bush.

Me: Sorry. You're just not smart enough to represent me. Good day.

and I closed the door in his face . . . :)

8. I had something similar happen to me

I was running for town council and when I rang the bell on a particular house a woman came out and wanted to know if I supported women's choice. I said basically the same thing, that it had nothing to do with local council, but answered her question anyway, that I strongly supported the right to choose. She said I had her vote and explained that to her way of thinking, which I can't disagree with, if I ran for local council some day I might run for state legislature or congress and it was indeed relevant.

The Christofacists have infiltrated the U.S. political system by starting out with school boards, town councils, even city tax assessor. From there, they moved into state office. If you read what the leaders of groups like the Christian Coalition were writing back in the 70s, this was the plan all along.

I told him all about the 9/11 Truth Movement, among lots of other criminal activities of the * admin. I think he was sorry he came by. He wanted me to vote for him solely on the basis of his platform of five-acre minimum zoning! Like I give a rat's ass about zoning right now??

It's almost a reflect action now. If some poor fool admits they either voted for or supports meeester boosh, I immediate call them immoral.

I'll be glad to explain that they're supporting an illegal war and all the killing that's associated with it. It's not keeping the nation safer, it's making it more dangerous...that's immoral!

I'll explain who they're supporting the destruction of our economy and the working class. How their beloved tax cuts is destroying our schools and roads and levees and health system. It means millions can't get adequate health care and a decent lifestyle all so that someone who makes 1 mil a year can make even more money...that's immoral!

I'll explain how they supported the repression of anyone who dissents and speaks out...exercizes the most precious Constitutional right. They listen to propaganda designed to mislead, discieve and slander. If they do so willingly...that's immoral!

Amazingly, I'll get a lot of good shots in as they sit stunned and can't reply. If it costs me a "friend" so be it...they really weren't looking out for the best interests of me, my family and this country.

41. It's Making Them Stop & Think

Calling someone dumb or throwing the same insults back at them that they do at you doesn't have much impact. However when you question their compassion...their sense of decency...this is where the rubber hits the road, and I won't hold back on calling these hypocrites by their true colors.

It's time Democrats and Progressives felt pride in being on the right side of so many important issues. We disagree on which one is more important than another or on the finer points, but the intentions of almost every person I see here is of true caring and of a far higher moral character than the slime who proudly call themselves Repugnicans or show any approval or support for meeester boooosh.

31. I had some old guy scream at me from a car in a grocery store parking lot

a week or so ago. He called me over to his car and asked me to go buy him something or other in the store. He had caught me as I was going back inside to get my keys which I had left at the checkout. I was in huge hurry and didn't hear exactly what he wanted as I rushed by. I shrugged my shoulders and pointed to my ears so he would know I had not heard him and went inside to get my keys. When I came out this guy roared up to me in his car and asked me where his bag of potato chips was. I looked at him and asked him who he had voted for in the presidential election. He was truly not prepared for that question and he stuttered, "Huh? What?". I repeated my question and I could tell he was trying really hard to figure out which side of the track I was on. He said Bush and I laughed and said, "That's why you ain't gettin' no chips!" He went ballistic! It laughed and hurried to my car. He wasn't done yet though. He came roaring up behind my car and screeched to a halt and started yelling at me through the passenger side window of his car. I guess he thought he had me boxed in but there was no car facing mine so I just shot him a peace sign and drove onto the street.
