1. Change in strategy. Instead of providing illusions of work on the scene

with bullhorns and cheerleading they are providing illusions about work going on behind the scene. "perhaps if we sit around this table together they will think we are working."

2. Maybe if one of those mics were used to actually report

what was said in the meeting I could make a determination. As is, they're just there to record the single 4 second soundbite where he actually sounds coherent. Probably something along the lines of, "We're making progress in _fill in the blank_".

9. Where's the mess?

Any "working" meeting I've been in, the desk is covered in papers in about five minutes. At minimum you've got the agenda, the minutes of the previous meeting, documentation, your papers for what your specific contribution is going to be, and a notepad to write down "take aways".

Note Dubya doesn't have any papers at all.

I remember the grief Clinton got because his cabinet would show up in blue jeans. We were suppose to believe that the corporate look of the Bush neo-con fascists would be an indication that "the adults were back in charge." So His Royal Flatulence required the wearing of suits from all his cabinet members, lest we the public might believe his White House wouldn't operate like a "finely tuned and oiled piece of corporate machinery."

Right now, I rather have the blue-jean casualness of competency, then the corporate-look of incompetence...
