6. I think the timing works very well
The Senate and the house has been blocked every step of the way when it comes to DSM, rover, independent commission to investigate FEMA and Katrina...just to name a few.

The repukes have stopped everything the dems have done.

The harsh language is needed and Kerry waited until after bush said his little speech.

I like and my hat's off to the guy. He would have made for a great president, IMO.

13. Here...I can help you with his actions after Katrina......
The next day he quietly sent down a plane loaded with supplies for Mississippi.

Then he went to Iraq.

Upon returning he submitted a legislative package to relieve small businesses effected by Katrina.

Then he secured a congressional investigation into 9-11 funds targeted for small businesses that found their way into the businesses of WH friends, instead.

Then he made speeches all over NJ on Saturday (9-10) and referred to Bush's response as "criminal negligence" while working to elect Corzine as Gov.

Then he made his SECOND supply trip for the people of Boston who publicly collected their donations. THAT is why you heard about the second trip and not the first.

Then he spent last week getting his Katrina legislation passed.

Then he gave this speech.

17. You answered your own question?
I'm making the point that he was supposed to hammer Bush all year, last year. But he made a Skull&Bones deal and we all get screwed.

18. I said the poster should share what THEY know of what Kerry did reKatrina.
Edited on Mon Sep-19-05 03:41 PM by blm
Because they claimed that Kerry's 2 weeks late reKatrina.

And if you have any proof that Kerry made a Skull and Bones Deal with Bush, then you are obligated as a citizen to disclose that evidence. Seems to me the only place Kerry had the opportunity to personally THROW the election would have been the debates.

I could have sworn that Kerry won all 3 debates DECISIVELY, while the media was spinning 24/7 to keep Bush propped up.

Could it be that the left leaning pundits and objective media got THEIR asses handed to them by a RW media machine thatstayed on message and hammered the left in almost every matchup except the one that they couldn't control - the debates.

23. Please don't use "we"
as you do not speak for me.

You know this isn't about Kerry it is about all of us and the future of this country, to bad you don't want to be a part of the voice for all of us.

But for those who still believe in the great tradition of Americans doing great things together, it's time we started acting like it. We can never compete with the go-it- alone crowd in appeals to selfishness. We can't afford to be pale imitations of the other side in playing the 'what's in it for me' game. Instead, it's time we put our appeals where our hearts are - asking the American people to make our country as strong, prosperous, and big-hearted as we know we can be - every day. It's time we framed every question - every issue - not in terms of what's in it for 'me,' but what's in it for all of us?

21. If you'd post all that as it's own discussion - I'd nominate, too often
we don't get to hear what our own side is doing. Much of that can be blamed on the Corporate media, yet we bash those who are doing when they do or criticize when we don't hear what they doing, thinking they just aren't doing enough.

And please include more info on the congressional investigation, that was the first I'd heard of that one.

crunch time of the campaign, from August thru Nov.

I'd say there's a 100% chance you missed alot of powerful statements he made against BushInc.

Can't blame you too much. The corporate media suppressed alot of his most scathing remarks against Bush. The only way I saw most of his campaign was Cspan.

14. "This is the Katrina administration"

"Brownie is to Katrina what Paul Bremer is to peace in Iraq; what George Tenet is to slam dunk intelligence; what Paul Wolfowitz is to parades paved with flowers in Baghdad; what Dick Cheney is to visionary energy policy; what Donald Rumsfeld is to basic war planning; what Tom Delay is to ethics; and what George Bush is to "Mission Accomplished" and "Wanted Dead or Alive." The bottom line is simple: The "we'll do whatever it takes" administration doesn't have what it takes to get the job done.

This is the Katrina administration."

.................................

"They're already talking about private school vouchers, abandonment of environmental regulations, abolition of wage standards, subsidies for big industries - and believe it or not yet another big round of tax cuts for the wealthiest among us!"

A little late here. I thought Davis-Bacon was already suspended by Bushler.

15. I have never been a Kerry fan and thought he sucked
as a national candidate but I give him much credit today. I think his speech was perfectly timed and well said. Bush is slowly drowning and Kerry threw him an anchor. It amazes me that some here are never, under any circumstances, satisfied. One poster actually said Kerry's speech focusing on the disaster of Katrina, was a year late. Was there also a Katrina last year?.......I must have missed it.
