No offense to our military, but Col. Billy J. Buckner (is that name for **real?**) is just too full of what might be generously called "good news." Things are looking up, UP!

Buckner, a U.S. military spokesman, said Iraqi and U.S. troops had captured 211 terror suspects and confiscated nine weapons caches since Aug. 26 when the joint U.S.-Iraqi force began encircling Tal Afar, 260 miles northwest of Baghdad.

September 13, 2005
“Operation Restoring Rights is being conducted to remove terrorists and foreign fighters operating in Tal Afar,” said Col. Billy J. Buckner, spokesman for Multi-National Corps-Iraq.
“This operation is in support of the Iraqi government’s efforts to bring safety and security to the citizens of the city,” Buckner said. “The local government requested Coalition assistance in setting the conditions needed to establish permanent Iraqi security for the people of Tal Afar that will allow them to vote in upcoming elections.”
http://www.blackanthem.com/News/2005081509.html"Abu Zubair’s death, as well as recent captures of terrorists in northern Iraq, is making a difference in Coalition and Iraqi Security Forces efforts to disrupt terrorists operating in this part of the country," said Col. Billy J. Buckner, spokesman for the Multi-National Corps. "Terrorists are doing all they can to stop the rise of a free Iraq, but their bombs and attacks have not prevented Iraqi sovereignty and they will not prevent Iraqi democracy," Buckner said.
