Rita - worst case scenario.
The center of the storm track is the Texas City/Houston area. If a category four storm hits this area we'll lose another big chunk of refining capacity. It's early, but keep your tank filled.

1. Yep, I think everyone should expect the worst. Oil has gone up
over $4 today, and we don't even know where Rita's going yet.

2. Strange...
But I just noticed while out at lunch that gas prices have fallen from around $3/gallon to a shockingly low average of about $2.45/gallon. Here in NE Texas.

hmmm

3. Just dipped below $3.00
in western New York today. Only $.40 to go until we're back to pre-Katrina levels. But now.......Rita. That foul bitch had better disappear.

5. Wasn't a major hurricane hitting Houston...
the premise/ start of the demise on that FX Disaster flick about the oil shortage? I can't remember the name of the movie, but it had to do with rising oil costs, due to an oil shortage and the on-going war in Iraq. It's kinda spooky how life imitates art now days (if only it would immitate "The West Wing"). :eyes:
