How did Shrub run up a deficit and a public debt so astronomical that it has no modern parrallel outside of Weimar Germany?

Simple. He never says "no". He has never vetoed a spending bill.

His supporters in congress have gotten used to tacking on billions in pork to each bill and he always says yes. It is literally a situation where they "ask" and they "recieve".

What did Bush say announcing his tax cuts? It's the People's money!
