I love him but my 90 yr old dad thinks he has sold out...he is convinced Clinton has a seat waiting for him with the Carlyle Group..

Him and buddy Blair.. don't want to believe it but am thinking it may be true?

4. If you lived with Hillary, wouldn't you want to get out some?
I know I'd take a job if it was offered, especially if it involved travel.

5. Your Dad is right about Blair (article here) and probably Clinton too...

IS BLAIR OFF TO JOIN $30BN WORLD ELITE?
HE'S EYEING UP £250K JOB WITH ARMS TRADE LINK FIRM
Exclusive By Rupert Hamer
TONY Blair is expected to join one of the most exclusive groups of businessmen in the world after he leaves Downing Street.

The PM is being lined up for a highly lucrative position with the Carlyle Group - an American-based investment giant with strong links to the White House and the defence industry.

The firm has been nicknamed "The Ex-Presidents Club" because it has had a host of former world leaders on its books including George Bush Senior, his former secretary of state James Baker and former British PM John Major. There a also a large number of former US Army top brass.

Mr Blair has been keeping quiet about his plans after his departure from Number 10 - which could be as early as 2007 according to some Labour insiders.

16. The reason you have not heard it...
...is that it's merely something that the original poster's 90-year-old father made up. So unless you know said father, you wouldn't have heard of it.

10. Just to be the devil's advocate here for a moment, I don't
pretend to know what Clinton is really thinking, however, I wondered why he was sitting back and letting Bush destroy everything he worked for. Then I wondered about him and Poppy getting so chummy. Then of course there was the photo op with the three of them after Katrina.

So here is a possible scenario. Maybe he knew criticizing the * would only bring out the Rove smear spin machine. So he befriends Poppy because as ex-Presidents both have to know this President is leading the country in the wrong direction.

So Katrina hits and * has a big problem on his hands due to his inability to be an effective President. So son goes to dad and asks what he should do. Dad says let me talk to my new buddy. So now we have things happening, a little late, but happening. I am almost certain this new agreement with No. Korea has Clinton all over it.

Okay so the big question is, is Clinton doing this to save his country or to get a job at the Carlyle group?

11. Clinton woke up a little today
Mentioning dubby's tax cuts causing the budget problems and his war and Katrina. I don't have the link, but it was a dose of good old Clinton.

12. there is an unspoken "gentleman's agreement" that former presidents
don't/won't overtly criticize the current administration. Bill went over that line Sunday on the talk shows.

He's sailing as close to the edge as he can without coming right out and saying Bushit's an idiot. I seriously doubt the Carlye rumor and don't think he's jumped the shark. I think he's trying to do everything he can to help without completely losing his "elder statesman" persona

If he overtly attacks chimpco, he'll be vilified by the right and the press and he knows it.

17. I think that he also risks becoming the story. If he really goes for the
throat all the focus goes to him because he is such a lightening rod for so many people.
