Just on Weather Channel about pet shelters
Edited on Mon Sep-19-05 10:09 PM by mandyky
The Keys in Florida have a number of shelters for pets. At least one for just pets in cages to be left and at least one for people with pets and can stay with their pets in the shelter. Hopefully, other states will also do this.

1. someone has it together
I couldn't believe they demanded people abandon their pets to get some damn water.

2. I just read that there will be $1 billion worth of damage in the Keys
that the Government will have to cover. Most don't have any insurance there (no one will write it).

Guess B** will just write some more bad checks and tell people to hold them.

My friend, whosemarie, a DUer and mod for Randy Rhodes, lives in Key West. They boarded up and are goind to ride it out.

4. That's great news
I hope Katrina showed a lot of places the necessity of doing something like this.

I wouldn't leave my pets any more than I'd leave my family.

6. when I lived in florida, I had a list of every single hotel, motel and
shelter within 300 miles that took pets. then, and now, there is NO WAY I would ever leave my four-legged family members behind. to demand that people do so is cruel and callous.

seeing those thousands of abandoned, lost pets in NOLA just breaks my heart.
