They didn't report - How many troops or Where in Iraq they will be deployed....Those details may be operationally classified, even so it would me interesting to know if they are relieving US troops in the North of Iraq (Kurdistan) which has a history of confrontation with Turkey due to the Kurdish population seeking autonomy....

A behind the scenes deal must have been struck. The Turkish population was dead set against sending troops.

2. Are you sure it was the Parliament and not the Cabinet?

On 10/6, the Cabinet approved it, but it still had to go to Parliament. Did they vote on it already? Awfully quick.

4. That's what I was thinking

They argued about it for days last time, and they voted no. It's hard to believe that the fix on the Turkish parliament could be put in so quickly, when it was just approved by the Cabinet.

3. Interim Iraqi foreign Minister was on

Channel4 news over here this evening. He said that the Turkish forces will NOT be deployed in the North (he is a Kurd himself & touched upon the inherent problems that would cause in remarkable diplomatese), but to the West (I'm assuming around Al Rutbah & possibly along the Jordanian border).
